Yellowstone National Park can be a dangerous place, especially when there’s someone trying to kill you.
On a routine investigation in the backcountry of the Park, Special Agent Willma “Topper” Topowic of the Park Service is partnered up with Max Barnes, contract IT geek for the Rangers. The two stumble upon a discovery in a remote corner of Yellowstone that will change the Park forever - a mammoth vein of gold.
To protect Yellowstone, she and Max must keep the gold lode secret, otherwise treasure hunters will tear up the Park looking for the next El Dorado. Tasked by their head Ranger to evaluate the gold vein, Topper and Max work together and come up with a plan. Along the way, the beautiful but intense Topper begins to have feelings towards Max, but Max is terrified of his own feelings for her. Besides, this is no time to start a romance.
Despite their best efforts to keep the gold a secret, someone is onto them. Someone who will kill for it. And it might just be one of their friends.

Matt Brown lives and writes in Idaho near the Boise Mountains. Matt and his wife Rock love Yellowstone National Park and visit every chance they get. He first visited Yellowstone at the ripe age of 3 when his parents took the family cross country to visit the Park, camping in an ancient canvas tent. Matt grew up in Wyoming indirectly because of Yellowstone. After visiting the Park in 1970, they stopped on the way back to Wisconsin in the Wyoming town of Casper. Matt's father was asked to be the pastor at a local church, so that fall, the family moved west. After graduating from the University of Wyoming, Matt and Rock moved to Alaska. After 30 years, they retired in Idaho near Boise.
